About The Position

The summer camp program coordinator will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive plan and program for the summer day camp and related activities. This role involves developing a program to mentor and guide camp counselors in their delivery of the camp program and their daily interaction with participants. The coordinator will manage the day-to-day activities associated with curriculum, resources, field trips, finances, and communication with counselors and parents. The position requires setting goals and priorities, working independently and as part of a team, and making a plan to deal with campers who have difficulty coping with activities due to language, physical, or behavioral issues. Through this position, the summer camp coordinator will gain fundamental skills and experience in assessing situations and identifying appropriate solutions, be creative and innovative in coming up with solutions and implementing the best resolution, gain personal management skills, specifically organizational and leadership skills by supervising counselors, assistant counselors, and volunteers, and manage the relationship between camp participants, counselors, and parents. The role also requires adaptability and a willingness to learn continuously.
