About The Position

Rite of Passage is hiring a Maintenance Worker at Tampa Bay Girls Academy in Tampa, Florida. Tampa Bay Girls Academy is a secure facility with multiple co-located residential commitment programs serving high-risk and max-risk female youth ages 12–21. The programs provide comprehensive care, treatment, and supervision using evidence-based practices, including individual, family, and group counseling.

The Maintenance Worker completes work orders involving general building and grounds maintenance, minor repairs, and upkeep of the vehicle fleet. The role also requires timely completion of reports and documentation. Pay is $19.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• HVAC or related General Maintenance Certification.
• Valid state driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
• Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, and TB test.
• Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week on a designated schedule, with the possibility of a varied schedule and overtime.

• Prior building maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders involving general building maintenance.
• Change light bulbs and perform minor electrical repairs.
• Repair drywall and sheetrock and perform painting.
• Adjust locks and hardware.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs and unplug drains.
• Relight equipment and maintain smoke detectors and emergency lights.
• Perform grounds maintenance.
• Maintain the vehicle fleet.
• Complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
