About The Position

Arc Experience’s Program Leaders support youth in before- and after-school programs across Southern California. Working directly with students, they guide social-emotional learning, provide homework help, lead enrichment activities, and help students build confidence through engaging experiences. At the Equitas Academy 3 site in Los Angeles, this is a part-time, non-exempt role reporting to the Site Coordinator. The schedule is Monday through Friday, generally 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; one weekday is a minimum day, with hours around 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., depending on the school.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
• Good communication skills and the ability to communicate comfortably with children and parents.
• College transcripts showing at least 48 completed college credit units, or successful completion of an academic proficiency exam.
• Obtain a TB test and provide proof of a negative result.
• Pass a Live Scan background check.
• Reliably commute before starting work.
• If the school site requires COVID-19 vaccination, provide documentation showing full vaccination.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome students to the program at the end of the school day.
• Organize and lead activities such as homework help, recreation games, arts and crafts, and educational projects.
• Participate in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
• Create clubs for students, such as career readiness, cooking, anime, or dance clubs.
• Maintain a secure environment by following safety protocols, monitoring student behavior, and managing group dynamics.
• Oversee students’ safety and well-being during after-school activities.
• Encourage participation and enthusiasm while adapting activities to students’ diverse needs and interests.
