Program Integration Manager

Axiom Space•Houston, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

Axiom Space is hiring a senior program management professional to integrate its service commitments across engineering, technology development, platform development, and mission operations. The Program Integration Manager works within the Safety and Mission Assurance engineering team and the Program Integration Office (PIO), which serves as the enterprise mission/service integrator for the Mission & Commercial Services organization. The PIO turns customer-facing commitments, contract scope, promised outcomes, and margin assumptions into a coherent, executable enterprise plan, synchronizing the company’s value streams with hardware platform development. The role is responsible for ensuring that cross-organizational work forms a deliverable whole that meets customer milestones on cost and schedule. It is based onsite at the Space Station Development Facility (SSDF) and reports to the Vice President of Mission & Commercial Services. The position connects service demand to platform capability delivery, manages enterprise dependencies and risks, and supports readiness across the full lifecycle from pre-launch through operations. The role may require access to export-controlled technical data or technology; candidates may undergo additional export-control screening, and eligibility is a condition of employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aerospace, or a related technical field.
  • Five to ten years of progressive Program or Project Management experience in aerospace, defense, or complex technology industries.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale integration for multi-year missions or complex hardware/software systems.
  • Deep expertise in Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS), Earned Value Management (EVM), and Risk Management.
  • Ability to synthesize engineering, finance, and operations data into a coherent narrative.
  • Skill in negotiating between service capability demand and platform development.
  • Ability to identify unfavorable performance variances early enough to implement successful mitigation.
  • Strong collaboration and cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Export-control screening eligibility may be required for access to controlled technical data or technology.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed for critical project milestones.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer-facing experience in a for-profit service-delivery model is highly preferred.
  • Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or Program Management is strongly preferred.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is preferred but not required.
  • Passion for space and the mission.
  • Entrepreneurial, growth mindset.
  • High emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to use systems and tools to develop technology solutions and work smarter and faster.
  • Demonstrates accountability, technical rigor, execution discipline, and pride of delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for major service delivery missions.
  • Create and maintain a single enterprise baseline linking customer commitments, platform capability availability and readiness, and mission and operations readiness.
  • Incorporate resource loading into the planning model to assess project viability and profitability.
  • Serve as the primary interface between Mission Services and Platform Development.
  • Translate value-stream demand into capability-pull packages that define required technical thresholds and configurations and their delivery dates.
  • Negotiate and establish Capability Delivery Agreements so verification status and known limitations are understood across organizations.
  • Lead Integrated Execution Reviews to monitor schedule health, identify critical-path constraints, and drive recovery actions.
  • Maintain the single source of truth for cross-program dependencies and technical and operational interfaces.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate enterprise risks that could affect service-delivery performance or profit margins.
  • Establish and manage stage-gate reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, ORR, and MRR equivalents, across the pre-launch-to-operations lifecycle.
  • Lead change-control intake for modifications affecting customer commitments, enterprise resources, or platform readiness.
  • Support the Vice President of Mission & Commercial Services in evaluating project performance and deciding when to redirect or terminate efforts based on risk and alignment.
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.
