About The Position

The Program Facilitator for Digital Literacy Program (Language Stream) is responsible for delivering and coordinating a digital literacy program that helps newcomers develop essential digital skills within the context of language learning and settlement integration, bridging digital inclusion and language access to enhance participants’ economic, social, and civic participation. This role involves group facilitation, individualized client support, curriculum adaptation, evaluation, reporting, and collaboration with internal staff and community partners to ensure program goals, funder requirements, and client satisfaction are consistently achieved.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Community College diploma in a related field
  • Experience delivering digital literacy or technology-based instruction
  • Advanced computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, School Day, online platforms, service portals)
  • Fluency in English required
  • Ability to adapt materials for varying language and literacy levels
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Acceptable Police Vulnerable Sector Check

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and oversee all aspects of the Digital Literacy Language Program to meet established goals and service standards.
  • Facilitate digital literacy workshops tailored to language learners, including basic computer skills, internet navigation, online safety, email communication, accessing online services, and digital tools for job search and language development.
  • Conduct participant intake and needs assessments to determine digital competency, language level, and support requirements.
  • Provide system navigation, supportive guidance, and referrals to community, employment, language training, and government services.
  • Adapt curriculum and learning materials using plain language and culturally responsive approaches.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential client records and program documentation.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes; prepare required narrative and statistical reports.
  • Promote the program through outreach and recruit participants following established protocols.
  • Organize information sessions and collaborate with internal staff and external partners to strengthen service pathways.
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development activities, and assume other duties as assigned.
