About The Position

BronxWorks is seeking a Program Director for its family shelter program. The shelter provides a safe, welcoming temporary home for families as they work toward long-term stability. Program staff offer compassionate support, services, and community-based resources to help families move toward independence and permanent housing. The Program Director oversees facility operations, staff, program policy and development, data, and the annual operating budget. The role also represents the agency at interagency meetings and participates in fundraising and proposal development.

Requirements

Master’s degree in social work or mental health and an LMSW or LMHC license.
Three to five years of supervisory and contract management experience.
Experience working with governmental agencies.
Extensive experience working with multi-problem families.

Responsibilities

Ensure the facility is maintained, sanitary, and compliant with regulations.
Supervise operations staff and oversee 24-hour security, fire safety, crisis intervention, and communications.
Manage on-site human resources functions, including staff hiring, evaluation, supervision, training, and termination.
Plan, develop, and implement program policy for the facility.
Participate in fundraising activities and lead or coordinate proposal writing.
Develop and implement new program components as needed.
Manage the collection and presentation of client, administrative, and program data.
Develop and manage the annual operating budget.
Represent the agency at interagency meetings.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
