About The Position

As a Program Coordinator, you’ll play an important role in supporting the daily operations, programming, and member services at the Senior Center. Your work helps create a welcoming, engaging, and supportive environment for older adults while ensuring smooth administrative and program operations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • 1+ years of program coordinator experience highly preferred.
  • Prior group leadership experience preferred.
  • Good writing and record-keeping skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to learn program-specific software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, set up tables and chairs, and climb stairs as needed.
  • Availability to work evenings and/or weekends as assigned by leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Spanish, Russian, or Chinese dialects is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly activity calendars, informational materials, and program flyers.
  • Assist the Program Director and/or Assistant Program Director with developing group programs and securing consultants for programming.
  • Lead and co-lead groups at the Center and/or virtually.
  • Provide coverage for group outings and special activities.
  • Attend community, agency, and staff meetings as designated.
  • Answer in-person and telephone inquiries and act as a troubleshooter, referring calls as needed.
  • Provide information and referrals under the supervision of the Program Director and/or Assistant Director.
  • Complete program intakes with new members and maintain accurate, up-to-date demographic information in STARS.
  • Assemble and record statistical data.
  • Type letters, reports, flyers, and other printed materials as needed.
  • Provide coverage of the Senior Center during the absence of the Program Director and Assistant Director.
  • Place orders with food vendors and other suppliers.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of food and supplies.
  • Fill in for absent staff as needed, including kitchen staff coverage.
  • Perform additional related duties and assignments as requested.
  • Participate in Cooling Center Hours, Make-Up Days, or other emergency operations as required by City funders.
  • Be available to work extended hours or weekends when necessary to support older adult center members.
