In this role, you will coordinate fiscal and grants management activities supporting the Alaska Reads Act, Early Learning programs, and the Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) Grant. Prepare budget materials, monitor expenditures and encumbrances, analyze fiscal trends, and compile financial and program reports. Maintain accurate grant and fiscal records, process reimbursement documentation, and track reporting requirements, deliverables, and deadlines. Use state accounting and grants management systems to reconcile information and help identify fiscal, documentation, or compliance concerns. Work closely with program staff and administrative partners to coordinate established fiscal, procurement, grant, and reporting processes. This position contributes to that work through strategic planning, cross-divisional coordination, legislative and board reporting, grant implementation support, and communication efforts that support Alaska’s students, educators, schools, and districts.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of budget administration and analysis; including preparing, justifying, reporting on, and executing the budget; and the relationships among program, budget, accounting, and reporting systems.
  • Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.
  • Knowledge of requirements, practices, and procedures for soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and processing proposals, and awarding and administering grants and agreements.
  • Uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one’s knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.
  • Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance.
  • Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; commits to action, even in uncertain situations, to accomplish organizational goals; causes change.
  • Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
  • Training from an accredited college or university in any field and/or progressively responsible experience assisting with planning, coordinating, and implementing administrative controls, work processes, and/or procedures for a program, project, business, or organization.
