About The Position

This is a full-time union position scheduled to work 35 hours per week. Funding for this position is confirmed until March 31, 2027. Under the supervision of the Regional Site Manager and/or Site Manager, the Program Coordinator – Expressway Cybersecurity Bridging Program delivers comprehensive, client-centered employment services that support individuals in preparing for and securing meaningful employment. The Program Coordinator works collaboratively with the Job Developer Expressway Cybersecurity Bridging Program to enhance employer engagement events including securing guest speakers for job fairs and open house events. The role includes conducting assessments, developing action plans, and providing employment counselling and job search support. The role also coordinates all aspects of Bridging Program delivery, including workshops, stakeholder engagement, and program activities. The Program Coordinator – Expressway Cybersecurity Bridging Program is accountable for ensuring program delivery aligns with funder requirements and achieves expected outcomes. This is a fully on-site position in the Peel Region Employment Services office and requires 100% in-office presence. Due to funder requirements, there are no hybrid or remote work options associated with this role.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Social Services, Career Development, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in employment counselling, career advising, or employment/bridging program coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating employment, training, or bridging programs, including scheduling, logistics, stakeholder engagement, and delivery of workshops, job fairs, networking events, and participant activities.
  • Experience managing program schedules, tracking deliverables, and ensuring alignment with service targets, performance expectations, and funder requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to compile, analyze, and report on program data, including preparation of statistical and narrative reports.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity career pathways, industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP), labour market trends, and employer expectations, with the ability to support clients in transitioning into cybersecurity or IT-related roles, including internationally trained professionals.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating cybersecurity or IT-focused programs, including engagement with employers, training institutions, and industry partners, and organizing sector-specific activities such as workshops, networking events, or guest speaker sessions.
  • Experience delivering employment services, including client assessment, employment planning, guided journaling, motivational interviewing, group facilitation, and job readiness coaching.
  • Experience working with diverse client populations, including newcomers and individuals facing complex barriers to employment.
  • Strong knowledge of job search strategies, employment programs, labour market trends, and pathways for internationally trained professionals.
  • Knowledge of community resources, regulatory and professional bodies, and newcomer employment barriers.
  • Advanced proficiency in delivering presentations and facilitating workshops, including planning, coordination, and participant engagement in both in-person and virtual environments.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, employers, and partners.
  • Experience and proficiency using case management and client information systems (e.g., CaseFLO, FFAI, EOIS CaMS, CIS), including accurate data entry, documentation, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
  • Knowledge of virtual collaboration tools including MS Teams and Moodle, and online employment tools and web-based resources.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel across the GTA.
  • Fully on-site position with 100% in-office presence, five (5) days per week; no hybrid or remote work options due to funder requirements.
  • Position is front-facing and supports guests and walk-in clients.
  • Required to provide a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) Police check completed within the past six (6) months.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive client intakes using the Common Assessment Tool.
  • Determines jobseeker eligibility for employment programs.
  • Performs structured employability assessments.
  • Assists clients in developing individualized Employment Action Plans toward career goals, employment and credential recognition.
  • Monitors client progress and adjusts plans.
  • Coordinates all program activities including assessments, referrals, guest speakers, and placements.
  • Organizes events such as workshops, job fairs, open house activities and program events.
  • Organizes and arranges virtual and in-person workshops, job fairs, information sessions, and special events.
  • Plans and facilitates online delivery using platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom.
  • Coordinates centre-wide events such as job fairs.
  • Develops program schedules and timelines.
  • Monitors program implementation and deliverables.
  • Develops job placement, internship, and mentoring opportunities for clients.
  • Liaises with community partners to support client intake, referrals, and placement activities.
  • Works closely with regulatory bodies and professional associations to support credential recognition pathways.
  • Conducts outreach and presentations to community organizations and training institutions.
  • Collaborates with internal employment consultants to support cross-referrals.
  • Records services provided in internal databases and maintains accurate client records.
  • Compiles statistical and narrative reports to support program monitoring and reporting.
  • Trains and supports volunteers and placement students involved in program delivery.
  • Provides ongoing employment counselling services to clients to support job search strategies and employment readiness.
  • Prepares clients for employment and supports effective client-employer matching.
  • Assists clients with resume development, cover letters, job search communication, and provides feedback to strengthen job search outcomes.
  • Delivers job search strategy workshops including resume development, self-marketing, and interview techniques.
  • Plans, implements, and facilitates online workshops using platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom.
