About The Position

The Center for Care Innovations (CCI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the health care safety net and improving the health and well-being of historically underinvested communities. For over 25 years, CCI has partnered with various organizations to test new approaches, strengthen leaders, and spread innovative ideas within the healthcare field. Their work encompasses capacity-building initiatives, advising and consulting, and ecosystem development through learning collaboratives, accelerators, tailored advising, research, and cross-sector gatherings. This Program Coordinator role will support initiatives aimed at helping health care safety net organizations enhance care and advance health equity. The position requires supporting complex initiatives, organizing multiple tasks, anticipating stakeholder needs, and creating positive experiences for participants and partners. The role involves working across various CCI initiatives and team structures, offering experience in project management, health systems improvement, event coordination, and partner engagement. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, takes ownership, and thrives in a collaborative, matrixed team environment.

Requirements

  • At least three years of relevant experience supporting or coordinating complex initiatives, ideally in health care, public health, nonprofit, community-based, or related settings.
  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple initiatives simultaneously and using work plans, timelines, task tracking, and other tools to keep complex work moving forward.
  • Self-motivated and organized, with strong time-management skills and the ability to manage changing priorities independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Experience planning and hosting in-person events, convenings, or other complex gatherings.
  • A strong participant, partner, or customer-service orientation and enjoy making sure people feel welcomed, informed, and well supported.
  • Clear and thoughtful communication skills, with the ability to develop polished emails, presentations, meeting materials, participant resources, and other communications for different audiences.
  • Familiarity with California’s health care safety net ecosystem actors (e.g., Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans (MCPs)) and key reforms (e.g., CalAIM), with an interest in deepening this knowledge.
  • Comfort using technology to support work, including independently running virtual meetings and troubleshooting common issues (e.g., Zoom, Notion, Salesforce, Microsoft Office).
  • Comfort working with data and spreadsheets, maintaining accurate information, identifying basic trends, and turning data and feedback into useful summaries.
  • A commitment to advancing health equity and improving care for historically underinvested communities.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience working with or supporting Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans (MCPs), Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), or other California safety net organizations.
  • Experience supporting learning collaboratives, accelerators, technical assistance initiatives, or other capacity-building efforts.
  • Experience supporting grants, contracts, budgets, invoices, or other financial and administrative processes.
  • Bilingual or multilingual, particularly in Spanish and English.
  • Experience working across cultures and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities across multiple initiatives, tracking tasks, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Maintain work plans and knowledge management systems, anticipate needs, and ensure important details are not overlooked.
  • Manage scheduling, prepare agendas, presentations, reports, participant resources, and other materials for meetings.
  • Document and track action items from internal and external meetings.
  • Serve as a responsive point of contact for participants and partners, anticipating their needs, communicating clearly, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Partner to plan and host interactive convenings, workshops, conferences, and other learning experiences.
  • Coordinate venues, vendors, registration, participant communications, speakers, materials, and on-site logistics for events.
  • Coordinate virtual platforms such as Zoom for events.
  • Draft participant communications, newsletters, presentations, and other resources.
  • Coordinate with CCI colleagues on initiative webpages, external communications, and learning materials.
  • Maintain accurate participant and engagement data, including attendance and satisfaction surveys, in Salesforce and other tracking systems.
  • Gather and synthesize participant feedback, prepare reports and summaries.
  • Assist teams in identifying trends, successes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Track deliverables, contracts, invoices, expenses, and related documentation in partnership with initiative leads.
