About The Position

The Program Coordinator for Undergraduate Humanities Fellowships and Public Programs supports the administration and development of the Center’s Undergraduate Fellowship Program, including academic programming, student mentorship, research field trips, academic programming, and community-building initiatives. Works closely with undergraduate fellows, faculty, and partners at NYU and beyond to cultivate an intellectually engaging and inclusive humanities research environment. Coordinates public programming and supports communications and outreach efforts related to the Center’s events, fellowships, and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years experience designing or facilitating undergraduate academic programming, workshops, or curriculum.
  • Experience supporting humanities research, public humanities initiatives, or interdisciplinary academic programs.
  • Experience coordinating programs, events, or communications in a university or cultural organization setting.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, mentoring, or advising undergraduate students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching and mentorship practices.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Familiarity with undergraduate research culture and humanities scholarship.
  • Experience with WordPress, email marketing platforms, social media tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and campus partners.
  • Ability to work evening events 3-4 days per month.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree
  • 5+ years experience with program development in a context involving members of the university community across ranks.
  • Experience with multimedia documentation, photography, or digital content production.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or related design/media tools.
  • Familiarity with the NYU community and the broader New York humanities, arts, and research landscape.
