About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for Program Coordinator of the Institute for Financial Literacy and Wellness. This role provides specialized support in the planning, coordination, and delivery of university-wide financial literacy and wellness initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position plans and organizes curricula, materials, and program tools for workshops, seminars, and micro-credential programs that serve a diverse population of 30,000+ students. The Coordinator supports the partnership between the Institute and academic units by helping to research and select effective and efficient instructional strategies that integrate financial literacy and wellness into the student lifecycle. The role manages the Institute’s daily schedule, mentors and provides functional supervision to Graduate Assistants and/or student workers, and serves as a central point of contact for internal collaborations. Additionally, the Coordinator supports the Institute’s sustainability through grant research assistance, compliance reporting, and resource stewardship, ensuring all initiatives align with the University’s community outreach, and strategic retention and graduation goals. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Public Administration, Social Sciences (e.g., Human Services, Psychology, Sociology) or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Three [3] years of professional experience in program coordination, student services, or instructional design.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating educational programs, workshops, or student services for 500+ participants annually.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing program data (surveys, learning assessments) to drive decision-making.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Instructional Design, or Curriculum & Instruction.
  • 2+ years of experience in instructional design or curriculum development, with a portfolio of created learning materials or workshops.
  • Experience supporting grant compliance, proposal writing, or managing program budgets exceeding $50,000.
  • Experience utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas to design asynchronous or hybrid learning modules.
  • Certification in financial counseling or education (e.g., AFC® - Accredited Financial Counselor or CFEI® - Certified Financial Education Instructor).
