About The Position

The person in this position will serve as the leader of the Administrative review team for assigned sponsors to ensure sponsor compliance; maintain a review cycle calendar for all Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) also known as Summer Break Cafe (SBC) sponsors. Conduct food vendor reviews for all assigned vended sponsors. Review assigned sponsors' food service functions to ensure that proper procedures are followed to maintain the integrity of program operations in accordance with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines. Develop written reports of findings and recommendations; approve and monitor corrective action plans; and conduct post-review evaluations, as needed. Serve as program liaison for assigned sponsors and perform duties to include reviewing, approving or denying sponsor/site applications, request for advance payments, conducting technical assistance activities and administrative appeals when needed. Review program operations at the sponsor/site level to assess program needs and make recommendations for program improvement. Conduct assessment activities for all potential new and returning sponsors as applicable to include checking the National Non-Disqualification List, reviewing financial records, administrative/management capabilities, Non-Profit/Internal Revenue Service status, and on-site pre-approval activities. Develop, coordinate, and present specialized annual and ongoing training to potential, new, and returning SFSP sponsors and SFSP Staff, which includes the development of training materials. Assist with the research of USDA regulations and with the writing of sponsors and staff policies and procedures. Engage in marketing and outreach activities to increase program participation. Identify barriers to access and participation. Assist with development and implementation of strategies to reach targeted audiences. Provide USDA site location data, collect data for program improvements, and perform additional data functions to satisfy state and federal reporting requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. This position is located in the Office of Health and Nutrition.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma
  • Relevant program experience

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree
  • Two (2) years of relevant program experience in child nutrition programs.
  • Preferred coursework in nutrition, food service management, or related disciplines.
