This community-based participatory research project, funded by the Tobacco Related Disease Research Program of California (TRDRP), aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the youth-informed Tobacco Harm Reduction through Expressive Arts (TobExA) intervention. The intervention focuses on preventing and reducing tobacco and tobacco-cannabis co-use among housing insecure and systems-impacted adolescents and transitional-aged youth. The project also seeks to identify strategies for implementing, sustaining, and scaling TobExA in youth service settings. The project is a collaboration between San Diego State University (SDSU) and San Diego Youth Services (SDYS), overseen by Dr. Jennifer Felner (SDSU), Ms. Haley Veniegas (SDYS), and Ms. Renatta Escobedo (SDYS). This position will be supervised by Dr. Felner at the SDSU Institute for Behavioral and Community Health (IBACH) and will work closely with Ms. Venigas and Ms. Escobedo.
