Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalency
  • Experience in overseeing operations of programs and activities
  • Current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attentive to detail
  • Dependability

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree in related field
  • Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One year of related experience is preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee the operations of youth development programs or recreational programs and activities.
  • Coordinate youth activities and field trips.
  • Assist in interdepartmental and citywide events.
  • Perform administrative functions and public relations.
  • Assist in promoting and registering clients for programs.
  • Manage maintenance work orders.
  • Coordinate events and programs.
  • Gather appropriate materials for activities.
  • Provide tutoring and mentoring for youth and teen members.
  • Assist with teaching programs or classes.
  • Maintain parks or club spaces and facilities in good condition.
  • Conduct safety inspections of locations and equipment used by program participants.
  • Provide assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed.
