About The Position

Emory University is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Computer Science program within the Emory College of Arts and Sciences. This role involves organizing, coordinating, and planning the operational aspects of the program and its related activities. The coordinator will establish long-term operational objectives, research factors impacting program success, and collaborate with individuals and groups to document program requirements for strategic planning. Key responsibilities include developing work plans, monitoring progress, conducting research for publications, developing promotional materials, and assisting with program-related events. The role also involves financial monitoring, budget planning assistance, identifying funding resources, preparing reports, conducting training, representing the program, and potentially supervising staff, interns, and volunteers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program.
  • Two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.
  • Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.
  • Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.
  • Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.
  • Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.
  • May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.
  • Prepares operational and statistical reports.
  • Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups.
  • May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers.
  • Works closely with the Director of Graduate Studies for the CS MS program and the Associate Director of Master's Programs to support admissions and program administration.
  • Manages admissions logistics, communicates with prospective students, coordinates course scheduling and enrollment, tracks degree progress, assists with curriculum management functions, maintains accurate and complete program records, and plans and executes student events.
  • Collaborates with other program coordinators on course evaluations, student worker hiring and supervision, and other departmental initiatives.
  • Supports the Director of Programs in achieving program and enrollment goals.
