About The Position

This position provides advanced-level professional consultation, coordination, and program support for child welfare services, with a primary focus on healthcare system integration, Medicaid coordination, and hospital-based collaboration. The incumbent serves as the designated Child Welfare medical and hospital liaison, with responsibility for supporting coordination between DCFS and healthcare partners, including embedded or routine collaboration with hospital systems (e.g., Woman’s Hospital).

Requirements

  • Six years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR An advanced degree in a social science field, public health, counseling, social work, rehabilitation services, business, public, or health administration, or Juris Doctorate plus two years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary DCFS liaison to hospital systems including Woman's hospital and other healthcare partners, as part of a defined program element supporting healthcare coordination and prevention.
  • Maintains ongoing, structured presence and engagement with hospital partners.
  • Facilitates communication between DCFS staff and hospital personnel.
  • Reviews complex case information to identify service needs and systematic barriers.
  • Assist in resolving authorization, coverage and service access issues.
  • Prepares reports, summaries, and correspondence related to liaison and program activities.
