About The Position

The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs is seeking a resourceful, service-oriented Program Assistant to provide logistical support for a broad portfolio of programs that support faculty success across all career stages. The Program Assistant will work collaboratively with associate vice provosts, senior leadership, academic administrators, faculty, and campus partners in planning and executing faculty development and leadership programs. Responsibilities include identifying and securing locations, facilitating communications, managing registrations, and proactively supporting participants before, during, and after each program. The ideal candidate has excellent program development, assessment, and event planning skills, with strong attention to detail, the ability to anticipate needs and proactively solve problems, strong written communication skills, the ability to build collaborative partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups, demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and a continuous improvement mindset, and a commitment to providing high-quality service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating programs, meetings, workshops, or professional development programs.
  • Customer service experience and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and developing presentations and marketing materials.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and maintaining confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in higher education administration or faculty affairs.
  • Experience creating accessible digital content.
  • Proficiency in survey, registration, project management, and database tools.
  • Graphic design or visual communication experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, business administration, communications, hospitality and tourism management, public administration, organizational leadership, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
