About The Position
The Part-Time Program Assistant supports the Center for Career & Professional Development in advancing student participation in internships, experiential learning, and career readiness opportunities. This position works closely with the Work-Based Learning Specialist to provide direct support to students, coordinate program activities, and ensure efficient program operations.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior experience in higher education, career services, workforce development, or administrative support is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and database systems; experience with career services platforms is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, student-focused environment.
- Commitment to supporting a diverse community of students and employers.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for students seeking assistance with internships and experiential learning opportunities.
- Assist with coordinating, promoting, and tracking internship and experiential learning programs.
- Provide advisement and ongoing support to 10-20 students throughout their internship to help ensure successful participation and skill development.
- Maintain and update databases, student participation records, and employer contact information.
- Support the planning and execution of workshops, matching fairs, employer information sessions, and related events.
- Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and employers regarding experiential learning opportunities.
- Prepare communications, promotional materials, and reports to support program outreach and assessment.
- Provide administrative support including scheduling, data entry, and correspondence.
- Collaborate with staff, faculty, and external partners to enhance student access to work-based learning opportunities.
- Provide overall support to the Center for Career and Professional Development office.
- Other duties as assigned.
