Within the context of a client and family-centred care model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position provides administrative, secretarial and clerical support. Transcribes and types a variety of medical dictation and other documentation utilizing various software applications and acts as a receptionist by answering phones, determining urgency of calls and referring to staff. Greets clients, provides resource information and responds to various inquires. Complies, prepares and maintains statistical records for workload monitoring and program planning. Receives referrals, schedules and/or confirms client’s appointments, receives clients and provides information. Types material such as correspondence, psychiatric and physician assessments, discharge reports, memos, minutes, promotional material. Edits transcribed material for stylistic consistency and accuracy, identifies medical and verbal inconsistencies in dictation, makes corrections and resolves problems.
