About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to provide programmatic leadership, consultation, and implementation support for the statewide workforce development initiatives within DMHDDSUS, funded by Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) workforce projects and other workforce capacity-building initiatives. RHTP is a five-year federal grant awarded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to improve healthcare access, quality, and outcomes in rural communities. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating workforce-related projects focused on strengthening the Mental Health, Substance Use, IDD, and TBI workforce across North Carolina, particularly in rural and underserved communities. The role supports development and implementation of workforce strategies related to recruitment, retention, training, workforce pipelines, technical assistance, and policy development. The position partners with internal DMHDDSUS teams, LME/MCOs, providers, academic institutions, professional organizations, workforce partners, and community stakeholders to support implementation of workforce initiatives and ensure alignment with state and federal priorities. The role is responsible for coordinating development of scopes of work, implementation plans, program deliverables, stakeholder engagement activities, and technical assistance efforts for workforce-related projects and contracts. Responsibilities also include monitoring program implementation activities including budgeting and contracting, analyzing workforce data and trends, preparing executive reports and presentations, facilitating webinars and policy workgroups, identifying implementation challenges, and supporting continuous program improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment OR An equivalent combination of training and experience.
