About The Position

Under direction of the Parents as Teachers Program Manager, responsibilities include providing support in areas of supervision of Parents as Teachers staff, office administration, project management and grant compliance in a fast paced, often hectic environment. Performs management, administrative and training functions; coach, mentor, supervise and training of staff. Provides day to day staff management of the programs in Luna and Hidalgo counties by meeting with staff regularly to review cases, set goals, evaluate staff, data analysis and program performance. In addition, Program Administrator will promote all program services to professionals, community agencies, business community and overall members of the community where Parents as Teachers serve. This position will assist the Program Manager with requisitions, purchase orders, p-cards, event organization, etc. Full-Time Term Employee- Salary and benefits are funded and paid on a term basis, contingent upon continued funding.

Requirements

  • Must have at least three years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Must pass a criminal record clearance through ECECD/Early Childhood Services as required by regulation and prior to providing direct services.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in social services, Health Education, Social Work, Education, Public Health, or related field.
  • Case management or program coordination.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team of Parents as Teachers staff who provide outreach, home visiting, support and referrals for pregnant women and families.
  • Oversees entire caseload of the LCPAT Program in both counties of Luna and Hidalgo, including assigning new cases, assisting with assessing risk levels, assisting in the development of individualized client service plans, and monitoring staff compliance with agency policies and program protocols.
  • Monitors staff performance, attendance, and required documentation daily.
  • Recommends areas of improvement for staff and promotes training that reflects the individual needs of all LCPAT staff members.
  • Ensures all staff follow agency and program policies and monitors progress of team toward achieving the Parents as Teachers program objectives and develops staff training plans.
  • Ensures recruitment, outreach procedures and caseload guidelines are maintained according to program policies and procedures.
  • Ensures activities are implemented on-site and in-home to establish positive links between home and program, and support parents as primary educators.
  • Assists the Data Team and Data Specialist in monitoring case load levels and ensures that data forms are completed and entered correctly and timely.
  • Checks documentation and daily work of program educators (Parent Educators, Home Visitors) to ensure reports, assignments and responsibilities are completed on time and as required by the Luna County Parents as Teachers Program.
  • Assists LCPAT team members maintain a balance in home/office visit services between parenting education and handling family crises and needs.
  • Provides leadership to facilitate the resolution of conflicts between staff.
  • Serves in a leadership role and works closely with support staff, site staff, families, and volunteers.
  • Provides leadership to staff in creating environments that are stimulating and conducive to learning.
  • Maintains staff, program and client confidentiality policies.
  • Participates in providing on-site training, supervision and evaluation of the LCPAT staff.
  • Provides and promotes Parents as Teachers information to the community.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of program plans, policies and performance standards.
  • Supports LCPAT in developing and implementing project activities and marketing programs aimed at achieving the goal of school readiness and improved outcomes for all children and provides oversight in the areas of case management and care coordination.
  • Works closely with Program Manager in monitoring budgets.
  • Follows Luna County and ECECD, departmental, and statutory policies and procedures when dealing with personnel matters and all other duties as assigned by Program Manager.
  • Additional duties may arise to ensure compliance with grants.
