About The Position

Northeastern University is seeking multiple faculty hires in the broad theme of Critical Infrastructure Resilience and Cyber-AI Security. This initiative focuses on protecting and strengthening the physical and digital systems that underpin modern society. The theme spans hardware and critical infrastructure resilience (HCIR), cyber-AI security and safety, and advanced manufacturing for future semiconductor materials and energy storage systems. This initiative builds on cross-college collaboration among the College of Engineering (COE), Khoury College of Computer Sciences, Mills College at Northeastern, College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH), College of Arts, Media and Design (CAMD), College of Science (COS), and School of Law, along with Northeastern's interdisciplinary ecosystem. It also leverages research institutes such as the Kostas Research Institute (KRI), CHEST, SENTRY, DIBI, and the Center for Advanced Materials for Resiliency (CAMR). The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department (CEE) within the College of Engineering is specifically seeking faculty candidates for tenured/tenure-track appointments at the assistant, associate, or full professor ranks. These candidates will focus on research that leverages physics-informed AI, digital twins, and/or sensing to enable secure, adaptive, and resilient critical infrastructure in coastal environments. The position is primarily based on Northeastern University’s Boston campus. Academic rank at the Associate Professor and Full Professor levels will be commensurate with experience and qualifications reflecting a record of demonstrated teaching and scholarly excellence. Candidates with interest in joint appointments with other departments or colleges should indicate their intent in their application materials. The university values collaborative research and teamwork, and hires will be mentored for success with dedicated mentoring teams and group guidance. Northeastern also has a strong faculty development strategy supported by various offices.
