About The Position
The Department of Medicine - The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking full-time faculty at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor levels outside the tenure stream. Qualified applicants will be established investigators with a proven track record in extramural NIH funding. Exciting opportunities are available for translational research and clinical care. Qualified applicants must have an MD or PhD and will be BC/BE (Board Certified/Board Eligible) physicians and physician-scientists, established investigators with a proven track record in extramural NIH funding, and a strong publication record. The position offers superb opportunities for research, direct patient care, and teaching and mentoring of students, residents, and fellows. Academic appointments and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Requirements
- MD or PhD
- BC/BE (Board Certified/Board Eligible) physicians and physician-scientists
- Established investigators with a proven track record in extramural NIH funding
- Strong publication record
- Three or more years of experience in related scientific research (for Assistant Professor)
- Ability to obtain external research funding (for Assistant Professor)
- Disseminated results through peer-reviewed publications and other scientific forums (for Assistant Professor)
- Significant teaching experience (for Assistant Professor)
- Capacity for sustained career development, promotion, and tenure (for Assistant Professor)
- Five or more years of experience in related scientific research (for Associate Professor)
- Independent, external research funding and a substantial record of peer-reviewed publications (for Associate Professor)
- Capacity for sustained, impactful, and independent scholarly contributions and leadership (for Associate Professor)
- Five to seven years as Associate Professor (for Professor)
- Attainment of authoritative knowledge and reputation in a recognized field of learning (for Professor)
- Achievement of effective teaching skills (for Professor)
- Superior stature in their field through scholarship, professional practice, and leadership in professional and learned organizations (for Professor)
