Tulane University School of Law is seeking a full-time, 12-month faculty member for the position of Professor of the Practice of Law. This role is part of the Academic Success program and reports to the Director of Academic Success. The appointment is on the Professor of Practice (POP) track, with an initial contract of three to five years, renewable according to University and Law School standards. The Academic Success program is crucial for supporting student achievement throughout law school and their bar exam preparation. The POP will teach a minimum of two courses annually, focusing on preparing students for common law bar exams. These courses will cover legal analysis, essay writing, multiple-choice strategies, and jurisdiction-specific content, supplementing commercial bar preparation courses. In addition to teaching, the POP will conduct year-round academic support programming, including individualized academic coaching. The role also involves collaborating with faculty and administrative leaders to develop programs for students from diverse backgrounds. The POP will report directly to the Director of Academic Success and work closely with other student-facing leaders.
