About The Position

The Professor of Practice will also serve as Spanish Language Program Director, overseeing the program’s pedagogical mission, curriculum, staffing, instructional evaluation, assessment, and day-to-day administration. The appointee will teach in the program and contribute to the broader educational mission of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and the School of Liberal Arts.

The appointment is at the rank of Professor of Practice or Senior Professor of Practice, with initial rank based on experience and qualifications. The Director will receive a substantial stipend and three course releases per year for administrative responsibilities, and will teach three courses per academic year on a 1-2 or 2-1 schedule.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Spanish, or a related field.
• Superior-level proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Strong record of successful university-level Spanish language teaching.
• Demonstrated expertise in second-language pedagogy, curriculum development, and assessment.
• Submit a curriculum vitae and contact information for at least three professional references.
