About The Position

Furman University's Business and Accounting Department is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Finance, at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. This is one of three new faculty positions and will begin on August 1, 2027. The university is looking for candidates passionate about finance education in a liberal arts and sciences environment. The role involves undergraduate teaching, student mentorship, and original research leading to publications or other scholarly contributions. The ideal candidate will also be adept at working with diverse students and contributing to Furman's commitment to access and opportunity. The teaching load is five courses per year, including an introductory corporate finance course and advanced electives based on the candidate's expertise.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or D.B.A in finance or a related discipline by August 1, 2027 (ABD candidates will be considered if the degree is conferred before that date)
  • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
