The Department of Health Sciences at Furman University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, beginning August 2027. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate Health Sciences courses, conduct health-related research and scholarship with undergraduate students, contribute service to the university and department, and collaborate with students, faculty, and staff. The department has 16 full-time faculty members and serves approximately 225 Health Sciences and Public Health majors, as well as students across campus through General Education courses. Many students pursue clinical health professions; others continue to graduate study or enter health-related employment. The department seeks a candidate whose expertise complements and extends that of its current faculty and who will help prepare undergraduates for clinical health disciplines. The typical teaching load is five courses per year. The faculty member is also expected to engage and mentor undergraduate students as collaborators in a rigorous scholarly program that produces peer-reviewed work.
