About The Position

The Williams College Economics Department is seeking candidates for an open-rank (tenured or tenure-track) position in macroeconomics, starting July 1, 2027. The ideal candidate will have research and teaching interests focused on policy-relevant macroeconomics, such as monetary, fiscal, or stabilization policy in advanced or emerging economies. This role involves contributing to both the undergraduate program and the Master’s in Policy Economics program at the Center for Development Economics. The department comprises 25 tenured or tenure-track faculty members who are active scholars. Williams College supports faculty in their teaching and research endeavors through various programs and resources, including the First3 program, Rice Center for Teaching, and NCFDD. The college also encourages and supports faculty in seeking research funding, both internally and through external federal and private sources.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or all requirements for Ph.D. degree completed by September 2027.
• Research and teaching interests concentrated in policy-relevant macroeconomics (monetary, fiscal, or stabilization policy in advanced or emerging economies).
• Ability to actively enrich the diversity and excellence of the academic community through scholarship, teaching, and service.

Responsibilities
