Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Economics
About The Position
The Department of Economics at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a tenure-track assistant professor in public economics for the 2027–2028 academic year. The position is based in Chicago, and faculty are expected to perform their responsibilities in person and onsite as part of the university’s on-campus community. The successful candidate will teach and advise undergraduate and graduate students, develop a vibrant research program, contribute to the intellectual life of the department, and provide service to the department, college, and university. The role may also include other related duties and special projects as assigned. A Ph.D. is required and must be conferred by the time of appointment in August 2027. Candidates should demonstrate promise of significant scholarship and the ability to teach at both the undergraduate and Ph.D. levels.
