About The Position

Furman University's Business and Accounting Department is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Analytics, at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. This is one of three new faculty positions and begins August 1, 2027. The role is ideal for someone passionate about data analytics education in a liberal arts setting. The successful candidate will be expected to excel in undergraduate teaching, student mentorship, and original research leading to publications or significant scholarly contributions. A commitment to working with diverse students and contributing to Furman's goals of expanding access and opportunity is essential. The teaching load is five courses per year, including introductory and intermediate business analytics, with opportunities to teach advanced electives in the candidate's area of expertise.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or D.B.A. in data analytics, operations, business, or a related discipline by August 1, 2027 (ABD candidates considered if degree conferred before this date).
• Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to contributing to Furman's goals of expanding access and opportunity.

Nice To Haves

• Prior university-level teaching experience.
• Corporate or industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in business analytics, including introductory and advanced electives.
• Mentor and advise students.
• Conduct original research leading to peer-reviewed publications or other significant scholarly contributions.
• Serve the department and university.
• Develop high-impact, engaged learning experiences, including directing and mentoring undergraduate research and course-related projects.
• Contribute to Furman's commitment to expanding access and opportunity within its learning culture.
