About The Position

Augsburg University is seeking an open rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) tenure-track faculty member in Management for the Department of Business Administration and Economics, starting August 2027. This position emphasizes teaching undergraduate courses in management, including Principles of Management, International Management, Human Resources, Business Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The role involves providing engaging instruction, mentoring students, supervising research, participating in curriculum development, and contributing to departmental and university service. Faculty are expected to maintain a scholarship program, engage in departmental governance, and contribute to Augsburg's collaborative academic community, with a strong focus on preparing students for graduate study, professional careers, and civic leadership. Requirements

  • A Ph.D. (or international equivalent) or terminal degree in Management or a related field is required.
  • Doctoral candidates will be considered if the doctorate will be completed by August, 2027.
  • Demonstrated abilities in working in an academic community committed to mentoring undergraduates and intentional diversity.
  • Skills and experiences that demonstrate intercultural competence.

  • Experience with international business and entrepreneurship is preferred.
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence (through materials such as evaluations or teaching portfolios).
  • Experience mentoring students.
  • Potential for collaboration and productive scholarship/creative pursuits.
  • Effectiveness in teaching and professional activities / scholarship which engages undergraduates and stimulates their vocational potential.
  • Post-doctoral/industrial experience.
  • Previous college-level teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging undergraduate instruction.
  • Maintain regular office hours.
  • Advise and mentor students.
  • Supervise undergraduate research and capstone projects.
  • Participate in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Contribute to departmental and university service.
  • Integrate real-world applications, undergraduate research, experiential learning, and community engagement into teaching.
  • Create engaging learning experiences that prepare students for graduate study, professional careers, and civic leadership.
  • Maintain an active program of scholarship appropriate to rank.
  • Participate in departmental governance, curriculum development, assessment activities, university committees, and professional service.
  • Contribute to Augsburg's collaborative academic community.
