About The Position

The Department of Business Administration and Economics at Augsburg University invites applications for an open rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) tenure-track faculty position in Economics, beginning August 2027. Appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level will be based on the successful candidate's qualifications, experience, and record of achievement. The successful candidate will have opportunities to teach courses in economics, including Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, intermediate theory courses, upper-level economics electives (with Money and Banking preferred), and courses in the candidate's area of expertise. Faculty members are expected to provide engaging undergraduate instruction, maintain regular office hours, advise and mentor students, supervise undergraduate research and capstone projects, participate in curriculum development and assessment, and contribute to departmental and university service. The Department values faculty who integrate real-world applications, undergraduate research, experiential learning, and community engagement into the study of economics. Successful candidates should demonstrate a commitment to creating engaging learning experiences that connect economic theory with contemporary issues and prepare students for graduate study, professional careers, and civic leadership. Faculty are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship appropriate to their rank. Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in Economics or Applied Economics from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Doctoral candidates will be considered if the doctorate will be completed by August, 2027.
