About The Position

The Department of Health Behavior in the CEPH-accredited School of Public Health at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time, residential tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The department seeks scholars with expertise in health behavior and translational research, experience leading research teams, and a record of external funding or strong potential to secure it, depending on rank. The faculty member will expand departmental research, develop interdisciplinary collaborations, pursue funding opportunities, mentor graduate students and early-career faculty in research, and facilitate undergraduate research activities. Preferred scholarship complements or extends current departmental work and aligns with a School of Public Health Center. Potential content areas include capacity building in rural communities, violence prevention, health inequities, digital health, sexual health, substance use, and chronic disease prevention and education. Relevant approaches may include advanced structural equation modeling, longitudinal data analysis, big-data-driven approaches, artificial intelligence, and technology-enabled health promotion and disease-prevention interventions. The appointment has a fully funded nine-month term, with responsibilities allocated as 50% research, 40% teaching, and 10% service. The standard teaching load is four classes per year, with options for a reduced teaching load and/or additional summer salary for well-funded researchers. The appointment is scheduled to start August 1, 2027, though the formal start date is negotiable. Reviews begin in October 2026, and applications will be considered until the position is filled. Salary is commensurate with experience.
