About The Position

The Division of Hematology Oncology within the Department of Medicine is seeking to recruit a physician to join their academic faculty team. This role involves providing patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and offering opportunities for research. The department values rigorous inquiry and encourages diverse perspectives and experiences. The successful candidate will receive a faculty appointment at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences, with the appointment level determined by their qualifications.

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency.
  • Fellowship trained in Hematology Oncology.
  • Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Hematology Oncology.
  • Current licensure in the State of Ohio required prior to beginning the position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care services to patients within the standard of care, working with the Hematology Oncology Division healthcare team.
  • Round with the Hematology Oncology team, including APPs, Residents, Medical Students, and Fellows.
  • Undertake independent rounding responsibilities.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Participate in the teaching programs of the Department of Medicine, the College of Medicine, and the University.
  • Participate in research trials that align with the goals of the Department of Medicine.
  • Participate in service assignments of importance to the Department of Medicine, the College of Medicine, and the University.
