About The Position

Under broad supervision, provides rehabilitation counseling services, referral services, and resident evaluation to assigned clients. This position is part-time hourly and requires less than 30 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits.

Requirements

Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a directly related field.
Ability to perform and/or direct intake services to youth.
Ability to direct or complete mental health assessments of youth.
Ability to provide therapeutic counseling to individuals, groups or families.
Ability to lead or participate as a member of a treatment team.
Ability to prepare and submit required reports and other documentation.
Ability to engage in clinical supervision.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a Master`s degree in a mental health field from an accredited college or university (e.g., counseling, social work, or psychology) that would qualify the graduate for licensure by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists.
Licensure as a State of Georgia Professional Counselor, Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist.

Responsibilities

Performs and/or directs intake services to youth, including mental health screening within time guidelines.
Directs or completes mental health assessments of youth by interviewing, contacting professionals, reviewing records, identifying stressors and needs, determining appropriate services, making referrals, and documenting findings.
Provides therapeutic counseling to individuals, groups, or families to effect positive change in youth behavior and social situations, including developing treatment plans, conducting individual and group therapy, providing crisis intervention, offering on-call, evening, and weekend coverage, and consulting with other staff.
Leads or participates as a member of a treatment team to identify youth strengths, resources, symptoms, and psychological challenges to develop and monitor an effective plan of treatment, including presenting summaries, participating in goal identification, providing clinical input, initiating changes, communicating with youth and families, monitoring progress, and writing progress notes.
Prepares and submits required reports and other documentation in a timely manner.
Engages in clinical supervision to facilitate development of clinical knowledge, skills, and professional integrity of mental health services provided to youth, including active participation in supervision sessions and seeking consultation for ethical or clinical challenges.
