The Professional Practice Director (PPD) is a key member of the firm’s Audit Quality & Risk group, serving as the primary point of contact for Grant Thornton’s risk management function. This role involves direct engagement with service line professionals and client personnel to address complex technical and practice-related issues. The PPD will monitor ongoing audit engagements, provide consultation on technical accounting and SEC compliance, and act as a resource for audit standards and methodology. Effective communication with engagement teams and clients is crucial for managing expectations, ensuring satisfaction, and driving change. The PPD will also liaise with other firm professional practice resources, monitor staffing and engagement turnover, and support engagement teams during internal and external inspections. Additionally, the role includes presenting training sessions, collaborating with partners and senior managers on proposals and business development, managing and mentoring staff, and representing Grant Thornton at professional events. Maintaining the highest professional standards and client confidentiality is paramount.
