About The Position

This role is responsible for performing exterior and interior painting of commercial buildings, drywall, steel, equipment, and structures in a professional manner. The painter will be responsible for the application of various coatings, preparing and protecting surfaces, repairing imperfections, and maintaining a clean work area and equipment. Effective communication with supervisors regarding surface conditions and efficient use of materials are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

Selecting and knowing how to use the correct tools for various tasks.
Proficiency with brush, roller, striping machine, taping and masking equipment, caulk gun, spray equipment, air compressor, hand tools, ladder, scaffolding, etc.

Responsibilities

Application of varnish, polyurethane, primer, paint, caulk, and other coatings.
Masking and preparing surfaces for coatings.
Cleaning and maintaining equipment by removing all traces of paint.
Repairing imperfections.
Performing exterior and interior painting of commercial buildings, drywall, steel, equipment, and structures.
Preparing and protecting work surfaces with drop cloths and masking.
Keeping the work area clean.
Loading, unloading, preparing, and cleaning of job site materials and tools.
Providing quality work and taking corrective action for conditions that may affect job quality.
Setting up and executing tasks on scaffolding and ladders.
Communicating to foreman/supervisor if surfaces to be painted are not in proper condition to provide a quality finish.
Using materials and resources efficiently.
