Counseling In Schools (CIS) is a dynamic community-based organization founded in 1986 with a mission to promote the emotional and social growth of children so that they can thrive in school and succeed in life. CIS has created and fostered relationships with local schools, shelters, and communities to enable New York City’s children to thrive – academically, socially, and emotionally. Our expert team includes licensed mental health and youth development professionals who fully integrate into the community, providing programs that equip children, families, teachers, and administrators with the right tools for preventing and coping with the challenges they face. CIS is seeking an experienced facilitator who can offer Professional Development workshops to our partner sites. Partners include but are not limited to NYC public school teachers, counselors, and support staff. Facilitators will be asked to lead 1-3-hour in-person training sessions for teachers, administrators, school-based mental health professionals, families, and/or students, in a variety of topics related to Mental Health and Well-being, Educational Strategies and Practices, and Community Building. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: creating learning environments and facilitating curricula to nurture community and share perspectives, modeling restorative practices, and supporting participant accomplishments in line with the learning goals requested of us. The Facilitator will work closely with CIS's Professional Development team.
