About The Position

We are 900+ people strong and growing! This position requires travel within CCRC’s service area to attend onsite visits, training, and meetings with child care providers. Staff members driving on behalf of CCRC may choose to drive a CCRC vehicle or own vehicle and must meet requirements to be an approved driver including holding and maintaining current auto insurance, current California Driver’s License and DMV clearance required. The work environment will consist of field-based work. Background and health clearance requirements will be determined according to the requirements of the program(s) which the position will be supporting. This includes background checks, Live Scan Clearance / DOJ Fingerprinting, Health Clearance, MVR / DMV clearance, Child Development Permit, CPR / Pediatric CPR certification, and Federal Debarment Checks as applicable.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred, including a minimum of 24 semester units in Child Development or Early Childhood Education preferred; or any combination of education and experience which would enable the candidate to successfully perform the functions of the positions.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in child care settings.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children’s families and/or child care providers.
• Experience facilitating groups independently and/or co-facilitating groups.
• Experience working with adult learners and clients from a variety of backgrounds and communities.
• Intermediate proficiency level using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and video conferencing tools including Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
• Ability to converse, read, write and/or translate in English and Spanish
• Effective communication, working professionally with adults and children, able to demonstrate a service-oriented approach to families.
• Cooperative work, effective Organization skills and Customer Service; collaborative teamwork, accurate work product, strong problem-solving skills, effective critical thinking, ability to make independent decisions/judgement, work comfortably in various environments.
• Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Child Development & Standard Educational Practice
• Ability to coordinate a variety of schedules and work independently with limited direction.
• Ability to complete projects under tight deadlines even when there are competing requirement and changes in assignment.
• Ability to be flexible and innovative, as the needs of the program evolve (including flexible work hours), to support departmental and agency programs.
• Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance to carry out the essential functions.
• Ability to prioritize work effectively, multi-task, adjust to meet multiple demands; follow up with tasks through completion; ensure deadlines are met.
• Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, apply good judgment in making decisions, work independently and take initiatives.
• Adherence to confidentiality, including HIPAA and PHI, in accordance with Agency policy and legal requirements.
• Adherence to technological security in accordance with Agency policy and legal requirements.
• Background check required.
• Must meet requirements to be an approved driver including holding and maintaining current auto insurance, current California Driver’s License and DMV clearance required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with the child care populations is preferred.
• Hold or ability to obtain or qualify for Teacher Permit. OR Willing to be trained or equivalent in units.
• Master’s degree in Child Development or related field.
• Five years of experience in working with Child Care Settings is preferred, and five years in working with children’s families and or childcare providers preferred.
• Five years of experience in facilitating groups independently, and/or co-facilitating groups, experience and the ability to work with adult learners and various client groups, experience with the childcare population, or any combination of education and experience which would enable the candidate to successfully perform the functions of the position.
• Hold or ability to obtain or qualify for Site Supervisor Permit. OR Willing to be trained and certified in Site Supervisor Permit.
• Intermediate Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

• Coaching & Mentoring (60%)
• Participant Training and Engagement (up to 20%)
• Monitoring & Compliance (20%)
• Represent the program and agency at outreach events in the community, including community fairs, conferences, workshops, visits, program meetings and events.
• Attend/participate in professional development trainings, and/or certifications.
• Submit monthly reports to supervisor.
