About The Position

This is a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the Fall 2026 semester in the School of Nutrition Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. The course, NUT3721 A - Counseling en nutrition sportive, will cover exercise metabolism and physiology, nutritional strategies for performance enhancement, addressing special needs (vegetarianism, chronic diseases), nutritional deficiencies and eating disorders in high-level athletes, and an overview of sports supplements. The course is a lecture-based class (Type B) with in-person instruction on the Lees campus.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nutrition Sciences or equivalent.
  • Experience in the subject matter of the course.
  • Membership in the Ontario College of Dietitians or a Canadian provincial college, or eligibility to become a member.
  • If the degree is in an equivalent field, the candidate must specify in their CV how their academic training relates to Nutrition Sciences.
  • Competence in French (language of instruction).

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course "Counseling en nutrition sportive" (NUT3721 A) during the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Cover topics including exercise metabolism and physiology.
  • Discuss nutritional strategies for athletes (pre, during, and post-exercise/competition).
  • Address special nutritional needs such as vegetarianism and chronic diseases.
  • Raise awareness of nutritional deficiencies and eating disorders associated with high-level exercise.
  • Provide an overview of major sports supplements.
  • Conduct in-person classes on the Lees campus.
