About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the course POL3578 - Politique étrangère canadienne et relations nord-américaines during the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa. The course will analyze the constitutional and institutional frameworks, forces, and factors shaping Canadian foreign policy, Canada's role in international organizations (UN, NATO, Commonwealth, Francophonie), Canada's relations with the US and Mexico, and key North American policy issues such as trade, continental security, democracy, and the possibility of a North American political community. The course is expected to have an enrolment of 88 students and is worth 3 credits. The instruction language is French, with a requirement for active competence in a second language. The course is scheduled to be held in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:30 to 19:00, though the teaching mode may change due to health or other reasons. Requirements

  • Doctorate or doctoral coursework in the field of the announced course.
  • Teaching experience in the field.
  • Active competence in a second language.

Responsibilities

  • Discuss major North American policy issues, including trade agreements, continental security, democracy, and the possibility of a North American political community.
  • Potentially adapt teaching mode due to health or other reasons.
