This is a reposting for PHI2500-A00, Animal Ethics, for the Winter 2027 academic period. The course analyzes philosophical questions concerning the status and well-being of non-human animals. Topics may include criteria for moral status, animal consciousness, legal and moral personhood for animals, and the ethics of "carnism," animal experimentation, zoos, and pets. The position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor and requires a PhD in Philosophy and university-level teaching experience in philosophy. The course will be taught in person on the Main Campus in French.
