About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the Introduction to Computer Science I course (ITI1520 Section C) during the Winter 2027 semester in the Faculty of Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. The course focuses on problem-solving and algorithm design, basic software engineering principles (decomposition, documentation, testing, debugging), variable types, expressions, assignment, conditional and iterative control, modules, parameter passing, recursion, fundamental data structures (arrays, strings, matrices, records), and an introduction to objects. Applications are limited to Regular Part-Time Professors. The course will be delivered in person.

Requirements

Excellent knowledge of the course content, demonstrated by teaching similar courses or relevant work experience.
For regular applicants, a doctorate in a relevant field is required, especially for specialized courses, or relevant work experience after obtaining a doctorate.
Must have obtained a doctorate in a relevant field.

An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

Teach Introduction to Computer Science I (ITI1520 Section C)
Deliver the course in person
Resolve problems and design algorithms
Apply basic software engineering principles: decomposition, documentation, testing, and debugging
Utilize variable types, expressions, and assignment
Implement conditional and iterative control
Manage modules and parameter passing
Employ recursion
Work with fundamental data structures: arrays, strings, matrices, and records
Introduce objects
Apply concepts to various disciplines, including engineering
