About The Position

The Production Utility Attendant performs entry-level duties in an operating area, which may include Scrap Operations, Melt Shop, Rolling Mill, or Logistics. Work includes handling, loading, stocking, and feeding material, and following established procedures and written or verbal instructions. The employee participates in training programs and opportunities to develop the skills needed for fill-in duties and responsibilities or a permanent assignment. Tasks are generally basic and repetitive and require care when handling materials and loading products onto designated conveyances.

Requirements

High level of safety awareness.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
Legally eligible to work immediately in the country of hire without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Two or more years of work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Handle, load, stock, and feed materials in an operating area.
Load and unload trucks and freight cars, and transport materials, supplies, and parts to warehouses, stockrooms, or work areas.
Operate track-switching mechanisms; couple and uncouple rail cars; and set brakes or wheel blocks.
Operate forklifts, front-end loaders, bobcats, and other equipment to perform daily tasks.
Clean machinery and other equipment or apparatus.
Assist maintenance personnel by handling tools and parts and performing routine maintenance on equipment used.
Follow established procedures and written or verbal instructions.
Participate in training for entry-level plant operating occupations and develop skills for fill-in duties or permanent assignment.
