About The Position

The Production Tunnel Operator works as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility, safely and accurately handling merchandise into and/or out of the facility. The role prepares a workstation, transfers hangers to garment-hanging aids, and places garments on an open conveyor pick. It also involves identifying garments that do not meet specified quality standards and marking items needing repair. The operator maintains a safe and clean work environment and follows production best practices. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to understand required training and written and verbal instructions.
• Working knowledge of basic math skills.
• Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet the attendance schedule.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout an entire shift.
• Ability to bend, reach, pull, twist, and lift.
• Ability to use hands for grasping and other manipulations.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.

Nice To Haves

• High school degree or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the workstation.
• Transfer hangers from the hanger rack to shirt or pant hanging aids.
• Hang shirts by placing them on hangers and pulling out sleeves when needed.
• Hang pants by positioning them on the hanging aid and ensuring the crease falls into place.
• Identify merchandise needing repair due to tears, holes, stains, ink spots, damaged labels or emblems, or missing buttons, and apply a twist tie to the hanger.
• Ensure garments are placed on an open conveyor pick.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and observe production best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
