About The Position

The Production Tunnel Operator works as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility and is responsible for safely, quickly, and accurately handling merchandise into and/or out of the facility. The role involves preparing a work station, transferring hangers, placing shirts and pants on hangers, identifying merchandise that does not meet quality standards and marking it for repair, and ensuring garments are placed on an open conveyor pick. The operator maintains a safe and clean work environment and follows production best practices. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to understand required training and written and verbal instructions.
• Working knowledge of basic math skills.
• Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet the attendance schedule.

Nice To Haves

• High school degree or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the work station.
• Transfer hangers from the hanger rack to shirt or pant hanging aids.
• Place shirts on hangers, including pulling out sleeves if needed.
• Place pants on hanging aids using the specified handling process.
• Identify merchandise requiring repair because of tears, holes, stains, ink spots, damaged or worn labels or emblems, or missing buttons; apply a twist tie to the hanger of each item needing repair.
• Ensure garments are placed on an open conveyor pick.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and observe production best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
