About The Position

Performs scheduled and unscheduled daily tasks to support equipment operation in a commercial laundry plant. Maintains awareness of assigned equipment during production operations and helps ensure it operates efficiently. Performs preventive maintenance and emergent repairs, identifying and correcting issues such as jams, faulty or missing belts, and missing ironer tape. Seeks technical assistance from Engineering when necessary.

Requirements

• Have solid communication skills.
• Be able to operate tools and equipment safely.
• Understand safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, confined-space entry, and working on hot equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area for oneself and nearby associates.
• Have a good working knowledge of machinery.
• Be able to help repair and maintain mechanical drive systems, conveyor systems, and overhead rail systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance activities on equipment as scheduled.
• Complete maintenance and repairs in a timely manner and to a high standard, including work on overhead rail and conveyor systems.
• Assist technical and mechanical personnel, including outside vendors, as needed.
• Maintain the maintenance log by recording incomplete tasks and new problems.
• Notify Production Supervisors about equipment status when it may affect production or cause downtime, and when equipment is back online.
• Identify and correct equipment problems, including jams, bad or missing belts, and missing ironer tape.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
