About The Position

STO (Shrader Tire & Oil), a family-owned transportation industry company specializing in commercial truck tires and lubricants, is hiring a Production Technician for its mounted wheel operations. The technician mounts and dismounts tires on steel and aluminum wheels, inspects and prepares assemblies, and stages finished products. The position is based in person in Melvindale, Michigan.

The schedule is Monday through Friday on first shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with some overtime when required. Pay is $18–$20 per hour based on prior experience, with a $1.50-per-hour productivity bonus available; employees are paid weekly. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to stand and work on feet for 8 hours.
• Must be able to lift and roll tires weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Must adhere to safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE.
• Must be able to commute to Melvindale, MI 48122.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Tire or warehouse experience is applicable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Mount and dismount tires on steel and aluminum wheels using tire changers.
• Inspect tires and wheels for damage and remove items that do not pass inspection.
• Inflate assemblies in a safety cage in accordance with OSHA 1910.177.
• Install valve stems, balance assemblies, and label them according to work orders.
• Stage finished assemblies and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Move product with pallet jacks and forklifts after training.
• Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
