About The Position

This is a bargaining union position represented by Local 773, International Brotherhood of Teamsters. The Production Technician is responsible for testing products for quality, troubleshooting and resolving technical problems from the product line/process to minimize reject levels, and setting up and operating production equipment in accordance with manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures. They will maintain the plant’s manufacturing equipment in satisfactory condition, including cleaning and sanitizing tanks and pipe routings, maintaining conveyor belts, hooking up and loading raw material delivery tankers, and cleaning work areas according to company GMP policies and procedures to assure product quality. The role also involves moving raw materials and finished product using forklifts or other warehouse equipment to supply production and/or facilitate shipping, and inspecting facilities to assure adherence to safety and operating policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The technician will implement, evaluate, and maintain the Coca-Cola Quality System, calculate production yields and scrap quantities, and communicate with peers to exchange feedback, solve problems, and achieve business results. They will also identify activities not in accordance with company policies and procedures and inform appropriate parties, and ensure appropriate documentation and retention of statistics.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent
  • At least 2 years of manufacturing and/or shipping experience
  • Available to work overtime and/or flexible shift hours when required
  • Good attendance and punctuality
  • Being in work area at scheduled shift start time
  • Takes initiative and has accountability for the quality and effectiveness of own work
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Working knowledge of production and warehousing
  • Able to safely operate a forklift and perform physical tasks including lifting and pushing/pulling (up to 55 lbs.)
  • Demonstrated commitment to development of skills
  • Works well in a team environment, across functional boundaries
  • Able to identify equipment and operational problems
  • Perform basic troubleshooting tasks
  • High Level of Individual Responsibility

Responsibilities

  • Moving raw materials and finished product (e.g., syrup, concentrate, parts, point-of-sale) within the warehouse or other production facilities using forklifts or other warehouse equipment
  • Inspecting facility (e.g., production, warehouse, service/installation) to assure adherence to safety and operating policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Implementing, evaluating, and maintaining effective application of the Coca-Cola Quality System
  • Calculating production yields and scrap quantities to accurately record material usage variances
  • Communicating with peers and others to exchange feedback on products/service issues, identify and/or solve problems, assess needs and/or achieve business results
  • Identifying activities not in accordance with company policies and procedures and informing appropriate parties
  • Ensuring appropriate documentation and retention of statistics in relation to execution against policies, procedures and standards
